New Delhi: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday apologised for the operational issues faced by attendees on Day 1 of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, citing an unexpectedly large turnout and assuring smoother arrangements over the remaining days.
Calling the response “phenomenal”, Vaishnaw said over 70,000 people attended the opening day, making it the world’s largest artificial intelligence summit. “If anybody faced problems yesterday, we apologise for that,” he said at a press conference at Bharat Mandapam, adding that a war room has been set up to address complaints in real time. The opening day saw packed halls, long queues, overlapping security checks, unclear instructions, and patchy mobile connectivity.
